![]() The Nettle Garlic Acetum Tonic was created using ingredients to be earth wise for late fall, winter and early spring. The language of nature teaches us that wild birds will supplement their diets around the equinoxes, and eat heavily throughout the winter. Fortification is needed in the fall for the harsh winter months that take tremendous energy for a bird to withstand a temperature challenged environment, whether that means extreme temperatures or temperature fluctuations. During winter, the tonic can be used periodically to add "green" and fruit nutrition to counteract a lack of fresh forage on range that is common in most climates during the winter months. In the spring, the tonic can start to prepare poultry for the rigors and stressors of mating, breeding and egg production for the hens. Moonlight Mile Herb farm organically grows the garlic and nettles, imbued with our farms's earth energy. The organic apples and raw honey are purchased solely from local farmers to minimize our carbon footprint in the food cycle. The wholesome ingredients are natural avian foods that our poultry's bodies recognize at the cellular level, and are readily utilized. The tonic is made with a unique patent pending processing technique which extracts the formula's constituents for the highest quality each ingredient has to offer, and weaves them together to form a synergy into a "living" holistic concentration made especially for poultry. |

![]() Although a tonic is mild acting enough to be used daily, a more effective, economical, and earth wise application would be to use tonics anticipating situational needs when your poultry would benefit the most. Through excellent diet and good management, your poultry should have much of what they need to maintain health. The language of nature teaches us that birds will vary their diet and supplement only when needed. This would typically be during stressors of flock relationships, reproduction, and environmental temperature and seasonal changes. This application will need some observation on your part to recognize normal behavior of your poultry when they are in good health, including their daily eating and drinking consumption, and to be aware of your poultry's environmental exposure. Prevention is preferable in managing your poultry's health because it mimics self-medication by the avian species. Again, the language of nature teaches us our poultry will self medicate using safer, less potent "medicines" and resort to to the stronger action herbs only on rare occasions. This kind of application give the body a much better opportunity to return to an unassisted healthy state. Once pathenogen or parasite overload sets in, treatment is much riskier and much stronger action herbs are needed to help your poultry regain health. The aftermath of some poultry diseases and infestations can leave your poultry in permanently comprised health states, like infertility, or carriers of disease even though they have survived. |

![]() We recommend highly that everyone get their flocks tested twice yearly with fecal floats done at a local vet’s office, or you can learn how to do it yourself at home. This diagnostic test will give you exact information on your poultry's parasite load, and the actual parasites your flock is harboring. Almost all flocks will have a small amount of parasites, which should be considered normal. It is actually considered supreme health if your bird is balancing a parasite population and is not exhibiting any unhealthy symptoms. However when the parasite load becomes so high that the digestive system cannot manage it, health issues will arise that can range from mild to extreme in affect upon your flock's health. ![]() |
