Join me, at the Great Lake Herbal Faire for the second year where I will be vending all my herbal products for poultry. I will bring my Seramas along for the ride again, and you can see them enjoying their herbal tonic.

August 21st in Prairie Farm, Wisconsin

Join me, with our host Lisa, at her farm to talk about herbs and chickens! There will be two classes hosted, each with a different topic. Q & A sessions if time permits. Potluck lunch and we will provide plates, utensils and something to drink. Lunch time is for socializng as well. If there are products you would like buy, please let me know by email and I will bring them along to help save on shipping costs!

Cost: $25.00 each class, $40 for both

Hours:

Class 1 - 10:00am - 12 noon: Basic herb processing and best practices for your flock!

Lunch Break 12 noon - 2:00pm: Lunch is potluck so bring a dish to pass.

Class 2 - 2:00pm -4 :00pm: How to handle emergencies and basic illness. How to diagnosis and the best herbs to apply and when, will be discussed.


Susan Burek: I am a trained herbalist and have been studying herbalism and raising poultry for decades. I live on my beautiful, rural farm in Michigan, on 6 natively natural acres with 100’s of chickens, guineas, ducks. peafowl and herbs! I blended my two passions together and have not only created herbal applications for health wellness for poultry, but also developed my own alchemical + artisian line of herbal poultry products as well.

June 26th in Willis, Michigan

Poultry enjoy and benefit from herbs just like people do. There are an abundance of native herbs that you can use for both food and medicine for your flock. Join me at my herb farm for a plant walk to visit with these native herbs. Some of the herbs discussed will be burdock, chickweed, mugwort, stinging nettle, yarrow, bee balm, dandelion, and garlic among other herbs that we find along the way. We will discuss best preparations and applications. I will provide handouts.

Location: Moonlight Mile Herb Farm, Willis MI 48191. You can Google my farm for directions. I am located generally in the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area.

Cost: $25.00

Hours: Noon to 2pm
